Capcom will reveal Street Fighter 6 when the countdown that appeared on the company's website ends last week. This is what the activist Jeff Group said on one of the paid sites recently.
Jeff said through a special report on the paid website Giant Bomb video show (via VGC) that he has obtained information from undisclosed inside sources that Capcom will announce Street Fighter 6 next Monday.
It is noteworthy that Capcom launched a few days ago a countdown timer that will end next Monday, February 21, at 9 am Mecca time.
While there's no indication from the company what the countdown is about to reveal, fans have been expecting something related to Street Fighter 6, since it's timed exactly to coincide with the conclusion of the final season of the company's Street Fighter Pro tour.
Starting Sunday, February 20, Capcom will host three days of competition featuring 31 professional players in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.
The Street Fighter series is also celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, and Capcom recently confirmed that it will celebrate the occasion.
In 2017, Capcom celebrated the series' 30th anniversary with the release of the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, which included all 12 major part releases of the Street Fighter, Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III, and Street Fighter Alpha games.
This makes us believe that the announcement may be related to the unveiling of the new part of the series, especially since the company confirmed last month that it had ended support for the current Street Fighter 5 sequel with the latest content that was revealed at the time. It also confirmed that the next part of the series is under development and will be revealed later this year.
