Avalanche's recently revealed new game Contraband will focus on the vehicle combat system. This is according to the latest reports about the game.
Information about this open world title has been poor on the ground since then. But recently, editor Jes Corden of Windows Central claimed to know what the game was about. During a World of Gaming broadcast this week. where he said:
I got brief details about the game design… It's totally based on vehicle combat, a completely different kind of game. Basically, you plan the smuggling and theft operations and then you carry out them. The idea is not to kill your opponents.
Corden added that the game system is more about disabling enemy vehicles like exploding tires and things like that, rather than doing mass killings with bloodshed. In his description, the game depends on movement and tactics in escaping and dodging enemies so that the idea of killing is the last thing the player can think of.
What is Contraband?
Contraband is a game coming exclusively to Xbox and PC. It will be available on the Xbox Game Pass service on the first day of its launch, as well as all other exclusives from the company. The game is developed by Avalance studio known for its work on Just Cause, Rage 2, and Mad Max series. In association with Xbox Game Studios.
Like we said, we still don't know a lot about this game but we do know that it will be a cooperative open world game. It is set in the year 1970 in a fictional city called Bayan. Players will be able to use different gadgets and vehicles to perform grand heists and face enemies with their friends in co-op in an open world powered by the Apex Engine. During this process, you will go through forests, valleys, and difficult areas to be able to escape with the things you stole.
Based on all this, we expect Contraband to present a unique idea and we are very excited to try it and learn more about it in the future.
When will the game be released?
So far, the date or window for its launch has not been revealed, but we expect it to be released at the beginning of 2023 or late next year, but the chance of the first is higher than the second. We will also not forget that there are other exclusives that will be released before it, such as Starfield and Redfall.
